Aim Controls specializes
in high performance industrial
laser systems and motion
control products. Both the industrial laser systems
and the motion control products utilize Aim's patented motor
driver circuitry and optical (laser) encoders. In bringing
its advanced technologies to market, Aim also became involved
in the design and manufacture of specialized pointing and
tracking devices. This vertical integration process expanded
Aim's in-house engineering capabilities to include advanced
digital electronic design, embedded operating systems and
PC based application software, mechanical design, metal fabrication,
and specialized analog and power supply circuitry. Aim products
that now employ this multi-disciplined engineering capability
include: X-Y tables; pointing and tracking mounts; precision
worm gears and gear boxes; precision telescopes; and other
unique multi-axis motion products.
Aim Controls has further expanded its engineering capabilities
by integrating its multi-axis tables and pointing and tracking
mounts with CO2 lasers, nd:YAG lasers, UV lasers, and diode
lasers. These highly integrated products utilize advanced
digital electronics in place of less efficient software to
simultaneously process the laser control system with the multi-axis
position control system. This eliminates much of the latency
that exists in typical industrial laser systems.
Aim's industrial laser systems can be used for laser cutting,
laser welding, laser marking, and laser engraving. Designing
and building custom industrial laser systems for particular
applications is an Aim specialty. Aim has worked with a wide
variety of materials including laser cutting, laser welding
and laser marking for plastics like acrylic, polycarbonate,
and PETG; laser cutting and laser marking of metals such as
brass, copper, steel, and stainless steel; laser cutting and
laser marking of various textiles and fabrics; laser cutting
and engraving of various woods and wood based materials.
Aim's engineering team can assist you with designing an industrial
laser system to replace hot knives, water jets, and stamping
and die tools on your production line or machinery. Aim will
include operator control software that is tailored to your
application. Aim will also integrate its electronic motion
and laser control system with whatever controls, sensors,
displays, or other input/output devices that may be needed
to fully automate your production equipment. Contact an Aim
laser engineering specialist to help you analyze your specific
application needs.
